Pour gonfler à l'air, insérez la paille profondément dans la valve située sur la languette du ballon. Pour gonfler à l'hélium, insérer l'embout de la bonbonne dans la valve. Ces ballons, quand remplis d'hélium, flottent horizontalement au plafond, mais peuvent être maintenus à la verticale avec du scotch ou des poids. Pour les dégonfler, réinsérez une paille dans la valve et pressez le ballon, (qui ne reviendra pas à son état neuf). Les ballons restent gonflés de quelques heures à plusieurs jours.
